Verizon’s Fiber Optic & 5G Home Internet Deliver the Digital Goods “PDQ”
When it comes to home internet, there’s no one‑size‑fits‑all solution. Verizon offers both 5G home internet and fiber optic internet, giving households more flexibility than ever before.
Verizon’s 5G, 5G Ultra Wideband, and 4G LTE networks now reach most of the country and deliver solid performance for everyday online life – streaming, gaming, shopping, working, and learning.
In areas where it’s available, fiber optic internet adds another option for people who want even faster speeds, ultra‑low latency, and long‑term performance built for the future.
Fiber: What It Is & How It Works
Fiber optic internet – often just called fiber – uses pulses of light to transmit data through ultra‑thin strands of glass or plastic. Instead of electrical signals, information travels at the speed of light, resulting in exceptional speed and efficiency.
Verizon Fios and Frontier Fiber deliver fiber directly to the home, literally connecting a physical address to the network. Once a fiber connection is in place, it’s designed to support consistent performance, high bandwidth, and modern digital demands.
Why You Want/Need It
Fiber is built for households that use the internet heavily and often – especially when multiple devices are online at the same time. Fiber offers some of the fastest residential internet speeds available today.
Key Fiber Benefits
- Ultra‑fast speeds, with plans reaching up to 10 Gbps
- Symmetrical upload and download speeds, great for video calls, cloud backups, and content creation
- Low latency and stable performance, even during busy times
This makes fiber a strong choice for streaming in 4K, competitive gaming, working from home, online learning, and smart‑home technology.
Where It Is (Already) and Isn’t (Yet)
Fiber optic internet availability depends entirely on location. It can change from one street – or even one house – to the next, so checking your specific address is essential. Verizon Fios and Frontier Fiber already reach millions of American homes in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, and South, with expansion occurring remarkably fast in other areas as well.
Can You Get It? Check Fiber Availability –
The easiest way to see what’s available at your home or business is to use the Verizon Service Locator. It shows exactly which internet services you can order today and allows you to sign up for notifications if fiber is coming soon.
To get started:
- Visit the Verizon Service Locator (link above) and prompts will lead the way, or
- Visit a store for the right answers, connections, and one-on-one help, or
- Call Russell Cellular at 1-888-271-3677 for scheduling delivery, billing, and answering questions.
- You can also see the Frontier Fiber coverage map and connect with a store in your area.

Waiting is the Hardest Part
If Verizon Fios or Frontier Fiber isn’t available at your address yet, don’t worry – expansion is ongoing. Rolling out fiber nationwide takes time, and new neighborhoods are added every year. When fiber does arrive, you’ll have access to one of the fastest and most capable home internet technologies available.

Verizon Mobile Protect Helps Consumers and Devices Have Stable Relationships
Sometimes we just have to let them go. Our lost or stolen mobile devices – precious, personal, and full of our weirdest selfies – occasionally slip away to pursue a destiny unknown to us. It’s nature’s way. Or chaos. Or user error. Hard to say.
Still, we can’t help but wonder where our lost loves ended up. Perhaps they…
- Embarked on a spiritual journey of self‑discovery (and ice cream)
- Found another – and pfflt! they were gone (yes, a telling Hee Haw reference)
- Joined the merchant marine (surprisingly common)
- Joined the circus (possibly in D.C.)
- Took the midnight train to Georgia

Google has just announced the release of their new phone series, the Pixel 10. These new devices utilize advanced AI to help save time, manage health, and boost productivity. Powered by Gemini your AI assistant. Create stunning photos and videos, track your health with Fitbit, and use your earbuds for clear calls and immersive audio. That might leave you wondering, what can’t the Pixel 10 series do for you? Read below to find all the specs and details of the all-new Google Pixel 10 series.
Pixel 10 Series Colors

With this launch, Google is using mainly pastel tones for their upgraded phones, while sticking to a more bright and bold colors with the basic Pixel 10. The pixel 10 will get the color option of Frost, Indigo, Lemongrass, or obsidian. While the Pixel 10 Pro, Pro XL, and Pro Fold will get a variation of Jade, Moonstone, Obsidian, and Porcelain. Not all colors will be available in every market; by buying directly from Google you can receive a select few additional color options. If you really want a certain color option but still want to maintain a Verizon plan, do not worry. You can buy a phone directly from Google and set it up with Verizon service.
Pixel 10 Series Screen Specs

Most of the Google Pixel 10 Series Specs are relatively similar, especially within the display. All devices are receiving the same type of display glass with minor adjustments to the digital display itself. The biggest differences to note are that the screen size goes from 6.3inches on the Pixel 10, to 6.8inches on the Pro XL. The Pro Fold however will start at 6.4inch folded and extended to 8inches unfolded.
Google Pixel 10 Camera Specs

If you are looking for an everyday camera with all the bells and whistles, my choice would be the Pixel 10 or the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Both offer great camera options for taking great looking photos at any point in your adventure. However, if you are looking for something more advanced, I would recommend the Pixel 10 Pro or Pro XL. They both come with slight upgrades in not only the camera, but in their video functionality too. Both phones upgrade the 4K video recording, all the way to 8K, providing the best possible picture. Other than that, each phone has similar specs going from 24 fps to 60 fps with slow motion video supported up to 240 fps. As well as an optical zoom ranging from 0.5x to 20x and even 100x on the Pro and Pro XL.
Additional Google Pixel 10 Series Specs

Some additional specs to look at with the Google Pixel 10 Series are the Memory (RAM), Battery Life, and Security features. While the basic Pixel 10 has an astonishing 10GB of RAM, each other device in the series offers even more with 16GB of RAM. All phones also put out an impressive battery life of about 30 hours or more. With that each Pixel 10 in the series offers the same security features such as: Fingerprint Unlock, Face Unlock, Pattern, Pin, and Password options. With the Pixel 10 Series, live worry free with all of that security.
As said above, Google just announced the release of the Pixel 10 Series on August 20th. Set to arrive in stores on August 28th. However, you can beat the line by Pre-Ordering today! See the closest Russell Cellular store near you for details.

Open the Box and review the setup guide. It comes with a gateway and a power cord. The recommended setup for the Verizon Home Internet Gateway is as follows:
- Centralized in your home
- On an open elevated area (desk or side table)
- Near a window but not in direct sunlight
- Avoid setting up next to large metal objects
- Do not install in a basement
- If you have a multilevel home, consider installing it on the highest level possible
The gateway device’s back features several ports, including a jack for the power adapter, a small reset button, a USB-C port, and two LAN cable ports. Above that, you can find the default Wi-Fi name and password and an important QR code allowing you to access the Internet upon scanning. To fully set up the device, follow these instructions:
- Find your location for the gateway based on the above recommendations
- Plug your AC adapter into the gateway and a wall outlet.
- The LED on the front of the device will begin to blink in a slow or fast pattern. (Slow pattern means the device is being initialized | Fast Pattern implies the device is being updated)
- Once the device has initialized, two more LEDs will turn on: the signal strength indicator on top (which ranges from 1 to 3) and the Wi-Fi indicator.
- Your setup is complete now, and you can connect using the default network name and password. However, it is recommended that you set up a custom name and password for your device.
Setting up Custom Network Name and Password
To set up a custom name and password, you need to connect a single device to the network (it works better with a PC or laptop because the screen size is bigger). You will use the link “mynetworksetting.com.” If a page pops up that says, “Your connection is not private,” just go through the advanced settings at the bottom left and click “proceed to the link provided.” From there, you will log in and follow the steps.
How to Use Verizon Mobile Hotspot for Home Internet
A common misconception about mobile hotspots is that you can use them, but they are not reliable or fast. However, with Verizon’s 5G Unlimited service, you can use your hotspot for just about anything in your home, with some limitations. Verion’s 5G mobile hotspot is a powerful tool when experiencing power or internet outages. You can use it from anything to playing Fortnite to streaming Netflix. However, you might run into bandwidth issues when trying to use multiple devices. It is recommended to use one device on a hotspot at time to get the most stable connection. You can turn on your hotspot as follows:
- iPhone: Navigate to Settings and find the Personal Hotspot Option. Once selected, turn your hotspot on and on the other device log into that network with your hotspot password that’s listed.
- Android: Go to Settings, Network & Internet, and to Hotspot & Tethering.
Verizon Home Internet Promotions and Deals
Verizon Home Internet is available in more places than ever before, and the locations available are only increasing each month. So, it is only a matter of time until it is available in your home. If you do not know if it will work for you, Verizon offers a 30-day trial period where you can return the service for a money back guarantee. That is how confident Verizon is that you will enjoy their service. Alongside that, there is a current promotion going on offering a free price lock guarantee of 3-5 years depending on the service you choose. Check out the closest Russell Cellular store near you for details.
