Leaders Lens – Justin Forsett
We have an exciting guest joining us today. Someone who has played college football at Cal, selected in the NFL draft by the Seattle Seahawks in 2008, played successfully in his time and tenure as running back, finishing his career in 2016, retiring from the Baltimore Ravens. If that wasn’t enough, this gentleman then became a Shark tank entrepreneur and co-Founder of Hustle Clean – a personal hygiene solution to fast and furious. Their mission statement is “We want to build a life-changing brand that powers a personal wellness movement at the intersection of hustle and hygiene.” It is my pleasure to bring into the conversation, Mr. Justin Forsett.
Notes
When was the last time you stopped, paused, and reflected about leadership? We all read the books, watch the videos and listen to the podcasts. Does that bring us closer to a leadership understanding? I have found that some of the best leaders don’t do it because they have the competency. They get that later. It’s something deeper and more valuable. They have the vision, passion and purpose, and it’s that which with all the other stuff that life brings which drives them into something that has impact and influence. Call it leadership if you will.
This episode is about milestones…it is about the things that happen for us over time and experience. I always say, things don’t happen to us – they happen for us…on purpose, for purpose. Justin, I would like to hear about some of the milestones that helped shape your journey. For a little context I’ll share five of mine: 1. My faith – I can’t imagine doing life without that as my center and driving force. 2. My wife and kids – they teach what I do right and not so right each day. 3. Staring my own business – to build something, risk, trust and believe, and then share the passion with others. 4. Cancer – diagnosis and treatments centered me on what’s important. And 5. Working through addiction and recovery, and truly embracing purpose in life
